John W. Lorde was born on March 6th, 1948 in Antigua West Indies, to the late Monroe Lorde and Louisa Hicks. He grew up in All Saints Village, cared for by his aunt Loni Lorde, but later relocated to Pigotts Village to be with his beloved mother.
He attended The Hill Secondary School where he excelled in his studies. After graduating, he worked briefly as an elementary school teacher and moved on to work for British West Indian Airways.
In 1973, John migrated to the United States. For many years he lived in Lefrak City, Queens and worked in Manhattan.
In April 1975, he married his first wife, Maria St. Luce, and they have always remained friends.
John was a sports lover and played competitive cricket in his youth and adult years in Antigua. In the U.S., John played and taught tennis. He was an avid tennis fan.
In 1981, John relocated to Houston, Texas where he met his wife and partner of over 30 years, Elsie Sanders. Some of the things John and Elsie enjoyed doing together were traveling the world, attending major tennis tournaments, cruising, vacationing in Barbados, and staying up all night to watch major sports events (particularly tennis).
In 2018, John became ill. In March 2021, he succumbed to his illness and went to meet his Lord and personal Savior.
John was preceded in death by: Trevor Lorde, Hyacinth Lorde Jacobs, Lionel Joseph

Step-grandchildren: Paige and Austin, Brothers: David, Raleigh, Adolphus, Floyd and Alister
Sisters: Cynthia, Roselyn, Lynda, Marilyn, Pauline, Johnese, Lyra, Ava, Bernice
He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and other relatives too numerous to mention.
