His name was John David Norsworthy, but he was also known as JD…A 39-year-old Sheriffs Deputy who always had a huge smile on his face, a devoted father and husband, an honorable son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew…and so much more. Born at Fort Hood in Killeen, TX and raised in Sugar Land, John was one of the greatest guys you’ll ever know. Although killed in the line of duty, John loved being an officer and his primary goal was “to get the bad guys off the streets.” Undoubtedly, he would do it all over again – no regrets.
John was completely dedicated to the love of his life, Melissa, and his two children, Jacob and Katlyn, enjoying almost 20 years of marriage, family, love and laughter. He was totally devoted to his family – and making this world a safer place for everyone. Kind-hearted, amazing, smart, brave, dedicated, honorable, funny, caring…no one word cannot begin to describe John.
The endless wonderful stories of caring, dedication, work ethic and devotion to family and friends will forever be a testament to his legacy. He never hesitated to pitch in and do things for others. His fellow officers all say he always had your back and is truly one of the greatest men you will ever know – on and off duty. The world has lost a great man, a hero. 4P130 is now patrolling the Gates of Heaven.
