

John Timothy Peralta, age 68, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Despite numerous health challenges, John never surrendered his faith or spirit, living each day true to his 'Semper Fi.'
John Timothy Peralta was born in Tamuning, Guam, to Juanito T Peralta and Rita G. Peralta. He attended John F. Kennedy High School and, following graduation, joined the United States Marine Corps. From 1976 to 1982, he served as a Lance Corporal in Supply Administration and Operations-work that reflected his resilience, reliability, and willingness to take on responsibility with quiet strength.
Beyond his service, John Timothy Peralta embraced life with an adventurous heart. In earlier years he enjoyed football, tennis, and golf, and he especially loved ocean-jet skiing, swimming, and surfing whenever he could. He also found joy in good food, particularly Chamorro cuisine, and he loved to dance, bringing warmth and levity to the moments shared with family and friends.
John Timothy Peralta also carried a deep appreciation for language and learning. He taught English classes in Japan and later taught Japanese classes at Notre Dame High School on Guam. Fluent in speaking and writing Japanese, he moved between cultures with ease, using knowledge and connection to build bridges and open doors for others.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his former spouse, Kyoko Peralta; his son Ace John Peralta and his wife Miyu; and his grandchildren Himeno, Hinano, Hitoka, and Hiona. Together with his daughter Alice Peralta Morikawa and her husband Shunta Morikawa. He is also survived by his former spouse Azami Peralta; his stepchildren Kaito and Miu and her spouse Spencer Brandt; and his daughter Sarah Peralta. He is also survived by his siblings and inlaws: Julie and Paul Robinson, Clarissa and Joel Garza, and Davina Peralta; his stepmom, Zenaida Peralta; and his niece Evita and David Garcia and their children Luke, Julianna, Audrina, and Michael. Survived by aunts, uncles, spouses: Lorraine (Jim) Guerrero, Vicente (Terry) Guerrero and George (Ko) Guerrero.
John Timothy Peralta was preceded in death by his parents, Juanito T. and Rita G. Peralta; his grandparents, Venancio T. and Joaquina Guerrero; and his aunts and uncles, Cid Guevara, Jovita G. Zamora, Lillian Macanas, Robert F. Guerrero, Martha San Nicolas, and David Guerrero.
Visitation will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038, US, on May 5, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at the same location from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038, US, on May 5, 2026, from 12:45 pm to 1:15 pm.
