John Henry Pott IV

John was born in Covington, LA on May 15, 1953. A resident of Houston, TX, he went peacefully to be with the Lord on January 24, 2017 at the age of 63. John leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Cynthia Monticello Pott; two daughters: Ashley Pott Thibeaux and her husband, Herman Thibeaux, III, and Melissa Pott McKirahan and her husband, George Wilfred McKirahan, III; six grandchildren: Griffin, Catherine Grace, and Ella Thibeaux; Hunter, Hudson and Hayes McKirahan; his mother, Alice Gossman Pott, two sisters, Julie Derbes and Christine Larson; and a brother, Andrew Pott. He was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Pott, III.

John loved the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing and flying small aircraft. His passion at a young age was golf, which continued into adulthood. He also enjoyed attending sporting events, especially those of his grandchildren. He was very much a people person and made friends everywhere he went.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Brookside Funeral Home, 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, TX. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00AM until time of service at 12:00pm.
