He was born in Alpine, Texas on April 5, 1922.
He enlisted in the National Guard at 17 years old. On July 24, 1940 he enlisted in the US Army as Guard Patrolman during WWII. He serviced his country well and was honorably discharged with a WWII Victory Medal and a Purple Heart.
He married the love of his life, Josefina G. Sanchez on Easter in 1958, and together they raised four loving children.
John had a career in ranching.

He had a passion for fishing, poker, slot machines, lottery scratch-offs, his grandchildren, UFC boxing, and wrestling.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Josefina G. Sanchez.
He is survived by children, Paul, Virginia, Brenda, and Rudy; grandchildren, Anthony, Jessica, John Paul, Brittney, Crystal, Jullian, Rudy Jr., and Dominic; great grandchildren, Logan, Alex, and Max, and siblings, Gilbert, Virginia, Mary and Sarah.
