

John L. Scardino, Jr. passed away on April 13, 2014 in Houston, Texas. J.L. was born in Bryan, Texas on November 18, 1919. He married Ernestine Brown December 23, 1939. J.L. served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and was a life-long member of the Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by Ernestine after 49 years of marriage. J.L. is survived by sons John L. Scardino, III and wife Judy and Larry Scardino; also granddaughters Kellye Scardino Clement and Stacey Scardino Thompson and husband James; great granddaughters Elizabeth and Emma Clement and Taylor Thompson. He is survived by brother, Tom Scardino and wife Floreine, cousin and best-friend Carolyn Luckie and her daughters Rachel Luckie and Carol and Jeff Maluski and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
His father John L. Scardino, Sr. founded Scardino Printing in 1929 and J.L. began working with him when he was 12 years old. He and his brother Tom along with their father owned and operated Scardino Printing for many years. After his retirement, J.L. and Ernestine opened Scardino Office Supply in the late 1970s.
