Born on July 4, 1960, John was the son of Jack Shipman and Mary Shipman. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend whose presence brought a unique combination of humor, creativity, and warmth to the lives of those who knew him.
John had a creative spirit and a love for the things that brought him joy. He loved crafting, antiquing, and theatre, and he held a special place in his heart for The Wizard of Oz. He was known for being silly, playful, and unapologetically himself. He also had a deep devotion to Willowood Maintenance, a part of his life that meant a great deal to him.
Above all, John was proud of his children and grandchildren. His family was one of his greatest sources of joy and pride, and the memories they shared with him will remain a lasting part of his legacy.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Shipman; his father, Jack Shipman; his brother, James Shipman; and his sister, Deborah Verwold.
He is survived by his sons, Joseph Shipman and Cash Shipman; his grandchildren, Gisele Shipman, Juleus Shipman, and Paiden Shipman; his daughter-in-law, Lorena Shipman; his son-in-law, Daniel Siqueiros; his niece, Julie Walton; his great-nieces, Olivia Marburger and Katie Dore; his great-nephews, Wesley Marburger, Christopher Dore, and Jack Dore; and his great-great-niece, Vada Marburger.
