It’s been 10 years. I miss you. I love you. The world stopped turning for me when you left me here all alone

just saw this and I am so sad. I worked at Goodman Bus Service with Johnny for 8 yrs. He would make me laugh & get me mad on days we were there in Dispatch for about 3yrs, then I moved to Accounting. He had so much knowledge for directions in Houston & all the drivers liked him. Very funny most days. Sad to see this but glad I did. Was wondering how he was doing.

John Michael Sims, "Johnny," 63, died at home peacefully 2/7/13. He is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie; daughter, Lonna & grandson, Cooper. A 3rd generation Houstonian, Johnny attended Holy Name & Jeff Davis. He served in the Navy & was a Vietnam Veteran. Johnny had an inspirational work ethic, never met a stranger & always had a joke. He is loved & missed by many. A Committal Service with Navy Honors to be held at Houston National Cemetery, 2/22/13, 1:45 PM. Lana, Danny and I are so sorry for the loss of your dad. Only met him a few times at Cooper and Chloe's school but what I saw was a nice man who loved his grandson very much. Our prayers are with you and your mom. Debbie Sales

My memories of John are short on years, but long on sweetness.  Memories of boxed plaid shirts and khaki pants, beanie caps, blue and gold school colors, awkward moments only adolescents could share, classroom desks that we all grew out of, nuns with their pokers, and religion class, Oh Heck!, filled our days with great laughter and friendship.  John was at the heart of it.  His crew cut hair style might have served him throughout his life while he served the Nation during a time of war.  He gave me my first valentine gift, and he was a favorite in our class at Holy Name.  He was an awesome Bulldog!  Comfort comes from knowing that time on earth is temporal, but forever is eternal.  What a place heaven must be to be fillled with so many of our family members and friends who have gone before us.  John's homecoming must have been joyous.  Take heart!  Your memories of John are long!  My thoughts of John will always bring a smile to my lips.  God bless you family and friends!

So sorry for the loss the Sims' are experiencing. I've known Johnny since we  played together on the same Pee Wee baseball team. Enjoyed visiting with him at the reunion picnic last year.
