John Wells

John Edward Wells, born November 21, 1944, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, passed away leaving a legacy of love, service, and kindness. He was the devoted husband of Margaret Stanley Wells for 32 years and a proud father to Lisa Meredith (Billy) and Andrea Allen (Barry), whom he lovingly claimed as his own. John cherished his grandchildren and great grandchildren, taking great joy in watching his family grow across generations.

John proudly served in the United States Army, completing two tours in Vietnam as part of helicopter aviation and earning several honors, including the Bronze Star Medal. His service stood as a lasting source of pride and lifelong respect.

Known for his warm personality, John never met a stranger and loved making people laugh. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping, woodworking, and spending time with his beloved dogs. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, US, on April 8, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A graveside service will take place at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038, US, on April 9, 2026, from 11:15 am to 11:30 am.
