

John Paul White peacefully journeyed home to his Lord and Savior in the loving arms of his devoted wife Darlin', (as he affectionately called her) on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 11:25 p.m. in Christus St. Catherine Hospital from Chronic Pulmonary Histoplasmosis. John Paul was born in Houston on December 13, 1955 to Sam D. and Dorothy Marie (Brock) White, Jr.
He is survived by his wife and soul mate Jonelle, whom he married August 18, 1984; Mother Dorothy White; Mother-in-law Michaelene Magnu; sister Mary Patton and her husband Roy, brother Robert D. White and his wife Margaret, sister Betty Burnett and her husband Frank, sister-in-law Veronica Coleman and her husband Marc, brother-in-law Joseph Magnu and his wife Christine, sister-in-law Christine Duenas and her husband Paul, 15 very special nieces and nephews and 4 Great Nieces and Nephews.
Upon graduation in 1973, John enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country as a Law Enforcement Specialist. He was Honorably Discharged in 1979 at the rank of Sgt. John Paul was also a proud member of VFW Post 8905 Elite Team.
John was preceded in death by Father Sam D. White, Jr., Brother Sam D. White, III, Maternal Grandparents E. Cullen and Gertrude Brock; Paternal Grandparents Sam D. and Loree (Cummings) White and Father-in-law Joseph G. Magnu.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 4th at 12:00 in the Chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Immediately following the service, all are invited to attend the Military Honors Burial Ceremony, which will be held at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive in Houston.
