
After a brave but all-too-short battle with illness, Johnie passed away in Houston, Texas, on June 29, 2026.
He celebrated his Sapphire anniversary, 45 cherished years with his beloved wife and life partner, Una.
Johnie was the beloved father of Johnie, Stephanie, Kimberley (Louis), and Valerie.
He was the beloved grandfather of Johnie, Jennifer (Jose), Brandon-Charles, Terra (Luke), Monica, Joe, Julia (Russell), Angelique (Joseph), and Antonio (Ashley).
He was also a proud great-grandfather to Aleenah, Lachlan, Jocelyn, Adelina, Alexander, Clara, Joseph, Daniel, Axel, Michael, Liam, and Addison.
Johnie faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army in Europe during a challenging time in our nation’s history. He later returned to Houston, where he lived, worked, and cherished his extended family in Houston, Scotland, Australia, and New Zealand.
Johnie was a devoted uncle to his late brother’s children: David, Manual, Frances, Colby-Martin, John-Paul, and Steven.
He was also a cherished cousin and friend to many throughout Houston, Scotland, Australia, and New Zealand.
Johnie worked for many years alongside his brother Joe and cousins Danny and Carlos at Texberry Container Corporation and International Distribution.
Johnie enjoyed celebrating life with his family, cheering for the Fighting Irish, Houston Astros, Dallas Cowboys, and Houston Texans, watching NASCAR races, and listening to the music of Elvis and the Beatles.
Visitation will be held on July 7, 2026, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 4136 BROADWAY ST, HOUSTON, TX 77087 with the Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 4136 BROADWAY ST, HOUSTON, TX 77087.
A Committal Service will be held on July 7, 2026, from 2:15 pm to 2:30 pm at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, Texas 77305, and at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
