Johnnie Pearl Byers

Johnnie Pearl was born in Henderson, TX on February 4,1927, to Walter Pierce and Carrie Wallace. Johnnie attended Kilgore High School. She was also a devoted Christian and member of the Crestmont Park Church of Christ.

Johnnie was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Byers; sisters, Amie Spencer and Bernice Reese, and brother R. V. Pierce. Daughters, Johnnie Mae James, Lois Elder-Hailey, Patricia Wat­kins, Pamela Mack and son, Kenneth Elder; nephew James Clyde Spencer and grandsons, Rodney James and Joseph Elder. She is survived by two sons, Charlie Elder and Tony Elder (Bernadette), and 2 daughters Barbara Jones and Janice Elder (Frederick). Also survived by 28 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and grandpup Diamond. Not forgetting her truly dear friends Sherry, Martha, and Ethel.

Johnnie's visitation will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Palm Center C.O.C., 6103 Beekman Rd, Houston, TX 77021. The funeral services will immediately follow from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The committal services will be held from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at Houston Memorial Garden, 2426 Cullen Blvd., Houston, TX 77581.
