

Johnnie L. Johnson was born on May 8, 1933 in Natchitoches, La. to the parents of Pat and Carrie Johnson. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at May Ever Green Baptist Church. He attended school in Rainwood La.. He moved to Houston, TX. at the age of sixteen. He worked as a construction worker and later owned his own business, Johnson's Construction. He was a member of Willing Workers Baptist Church for thirty-four years - Rev. James C. Carrington Jr.
Johnnie met his love of his life, Ester Jewel. Within the Fifty-seven years of marriage, they had four sons, Gary Simon, Michael L Johnson, Kenneth R. Johnson Sr. and Dexter W. Johnson and daughter, Barbara Ann Watkins.
His memory will be cherished by his loving and devoted wife and children: brothers, Roosevelt Johnson (Betty) Jack Arthur Johnson, Sister, Mary Muonagolu, twenty grandchildren, nine great-grand children and a host of relatives and friends. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Brookside Funeral Home in the Grand Chapel from 10 am to 11 am. The Funeral service will begin at 11 am at Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
