Johnnie "Mae" Trottie Smith

On July 3, 2014 * One we loved and knew stepped across the threshold that we call death, but it was only a step into another room and not stepping out of Fellowship of Life...but it was a stepping into one of the other rooms of Our Father's House.
Johnnie "Mae" Trottie Smith was born September 29, 1942 in Pineville, Louisiana to the union of the late Lillie Mae Chambers Trottie and Willie Trottie, Sr. She passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Park Manor Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Houston, Texas. "Mae", as she was affectionately known, accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and attended the Mt. Triumph Baptist Church, Alexandria, Louisiana.
"Mae" was a graduate of the "Mighty War Horses" (Peabody Magnet High School) in Alexandria, Louisiana. Mae's employment journey started with Central State Hospital, Pineville, Louisiana, Cenla Community Action Center (CCAC) in Alexandria, Louisiana and last, The Extra Mile in Pineville, Louisiana as a facilitator where she later retired.
"Mae" was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie and Willie Trottie, Sr.; two brothers, Nathaniel Trottie and Louis Trottie.
"Mae" leaves to cherish her memories, three brothers, Willie Trottie, Jr., and wife Evelyn, Earl Trottie of Alexandria, Louisiana and Robert Trottie and wife Joan of Houston, Texas; four devoted sisters, Betty Trottie Marves, Daa'Iyah Trottie Roberts, Ethel Trottie Tyler and Linda Trottie Matthews and husband Joseph all of Houston, Texas; and a great host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly.
