Jon was a good friend in high school. He was quiet and reserved, and a loyal friend. When I had a role in community theatre, I looked out in the audience and there he was, smiling! I was especially touched that he came to see me, because he lived quite a ways from the theatre and this was before he got a driver's license.  One day, when discussing our favorite books, I was shocked to learn that his mother had written my favorite book -- the Passage!  He even had her autograph my copy! The news of Jon’s passing was a very sad shock for me, my heart goes out to all his family. On behalf of all the Campbell family I send love and hugs to Norah, Pat and Matthew. 
This also revived many wonderful memories of our sunny childhood days growing up together on Kawagama Lake, traversing the path in the woods between our neighbouring cottages for a day of play. Memories of swimming at your lovely beach or our dock, and helping teach Jon how to swim. Rainy days meant big games of Rumoli with plastic poker chips. Flashbacks to our beach bonfires, sometimes with homemade hats, always with singalongs. As we grew older, evenings with all the nearby kids, playing Sardines or football. This was growing up with Jon at the cottage, precious memories I will always cherish.

Time and distance never lessened the life-long memories that I have of our shared childhood on Kawagama Lake with Jon and his brothers Matt and Pat.  This sudden loss of the youngest of the Perez/Pauk boys saddens me deeply and there will be a special tear in my eye and place in my heart for Jon when I next visit the cottage country we all loved and enjoyed as kids.

I feel very fortunate to have known and work with Jon. He was always smiling , upbeat and so positive. Jon was one of those guys that when I saw his name on caller ID......  I was happy and looking forward to the conversation.  RIP my friend  we saw meet again. 

I had the pleasure of being Jon's fellow work associate and friend.  Jon was so insightful, a pleasure to speak and work with, and extremely caring.  Whenever we would engage in conversation, he always started by asking how I and my family was doing.  I can remember during high stressful times, he would always check on me and see how I was doing, with supportive words and encouragement.  I miss Jon dearly, and am so sorry for your loss.  He was a great friend and colleague.  

Jon  was a good friend as well as a great business associate.  He always conducted his business with the greatest integrity as well as being tireless in his efforts.  He treated everyone fairly and was respected by so many in our industry.  He was generally one of the “good guys” in the nursery business.  Very thoughtful of others and willing to help in any way he could.  I’ll miss his friendship and good nature.  

Many times we look back at all of the many places we have been, all of the fun times we’ve had through the years, and friendships we’ve made along the way. Often times we don’t realize how many lives we have touched or how big of an influence on their lives our relationship had. Jon touched many lives and had such a positive outlook regardless of circumstances at hand. I first got to know Jon while I was in High School working at Wolfe Nursery and he was my store manager. I will never forget going to his apartment for a Christmas party and Jon was studying to take the Texas Master Nurseryman Certification exam and I was like what a nerd. Well little did I know about 2-3 yrs later I would accomplish the same feat. Ever since this time I have stayed in touch with him over the past almost 30 years. We went in different directions in the nursery trade and were able to cross paths about 6 years ago when I came on board to Shemin Nurseries and learned that he had beat me here. In the years since, it was always great to see him and talk about life. I have always had a lot a respect for Jon over the years and will cherish these memories for many more. Thank you to his wife and kiddos for sharing him with all he met along the way. Jon will certainly be missed by so many. Prayers and sympathy for his family in the days and years ahead. 

Jon was one of the kindest,  friendliest guys I've ever worked with. He was very knowledgeable,  and would share his wisdom with anyone who asked.  But mostly, he cared about others. If you had a bad day, he would make it better. My deepest sympathies to his family at this difficult time. 

Jon was a great guy! He will be sorely missed.

Jon Perez was a kind, straight shooting & extremely wise person. I have so may great memories of him! The one that sticks out it is the first time I had to drive to a job site with him. He drove like an Indy race car driver! I gave him so much grief for that & he just laughed.  I feel very grateful that he came into my life.

Jon was one of the most caring people I have ever met.  He welcomed me as if I had been his a lifelong friend.  I will miss his laugh and words of encouragement.  One of my most fondness memories was when we were all together in a trivia contest where his wealth of random facts will forever bewilder me.  Prayers to the friends and family, Jon is resting in a much better place. 

I am honored to have known and worked with Jon. He was so knowledgeable and always willing to share his experiences and offer insight.  Jon's kind heart and thoughtful soul will be missed by all.   

Jon, my friend. I miss you buddy. I'm sad that you left us but I'll see you on the other side. So long.

So sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Jon and getting to know him as a friend for the past 10 years. Jon was so passionate about horticulture and shared that knowledge with everyone. His humor was so sharp.  Jon had the ability to put things in perspective with his wit. I was able to learn more about Jon's life  spending many hours with him while we traveled for business. His family was important to him. I'm so happy I was able to work closely with Jon and get to know him.  We've lost a good friend and I will miss him. 

We will miss our neighbor who has been very gracious with his time, advice, and counsel. His sudden passing is a shock to the neighborhood. With his horticultural expertise, we will miss the friendly competition of who had the better curb appeal. He is resting in a better place now.
