Born August 28, 1933 in Seoul, South Korea to the late Insoon Park and Jaewoon Whang; and preceded in death by Richard Carignan, her beloved husband of 43 years.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her family: daughter, Maria Choi and son-in-law, Moon Ha Choi; granddaughters: Tischell Nguyen and her husband Jake Nguyen, Julie Bifano and her husband Stephen Bifano; as well as, her great-grandchildren: Andrew Nguyen, Alexander Nguyen and Penelope Bifano.
She was united in Holy Matrimony in the 1970’s to the late Richard Carignan. This union was blessed with the surrounding children of Richard and Jong Carignan.
Her Christian life was as beautiful as her love of art of ceramics, painting, knitting, gardening, and of course her love of dance which she was most passionate about. She traveled to China during her youth to learn dance professionally at a local academy. Throughout her life she shared and showcased her love of dance. Mrs. Carignan also was on the pageantry board for Ms. Texas Korea to teach dance.
Jong Carignan was an active member in the Korean Catholic community at St. Andrew Kim. Mrs. Carginan was an active member and leader in her Legio Marie group at church. She participated in various groups within the Korean Catholic community and always devoted her time to help others.
Jong Carignan will forever be in our hearts, let us remember her with the joyous memories and let her legacy of life live on.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home at 13001 Katy Freeway Houston, TX 77079 from 4:00-8:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited at 4:30 pm.
The Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 23, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Andrew Kim Catholic Church, 1706 Bingle Road, Houston, Texas 77055 (713)465-2682.
Following mass, a Committal Service will held at Memorial Oaks Mausoleum at 12:30 P.M.
