It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jorge Arturo Gamboa Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Jorge passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, at the age of 91, surrounded by the love of his family.
Jorge was born on November 19, 1934, in Melchor Múzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico, to Luis Gamboa and Herminia Recio. He was the eldest of four children and carried throughout his life the values of hard work, dedication, and love for family.
On December 31, 1956, Jorge married the love of his life, Juana Lucrecia Romo. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared nearly 70 years of marriage, creating a legacy rooted in faith, perseverance, and family.
Jorge began his career as a trim carpenter, a profession he practiced for ten years before becoming a self-employed contractor. Through 40 years of hard work and craftsmanship, he earned the respect of those who knew him and took great pride in providing for his family.
Jorge was preceded in death by his parents, Luis Gamboa and Herminia Recio; his siblings, Yolanda Gamboa de Galán, Ada Gamboa, and Napoleón Gamboa; his daughter, Norma Alicia Gomez; and his son, Jorge Arturo Gamboa Jr.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Juana Lucrecia Romo Gamboa; his children, Martha Gamboa, Luz Veronica Rivera, Diana White, and Eduardo Gamboa; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory and carry forward the lessons he taught through his example.
Jorge will be remembered for his strong work ethic, unwavering devotion to his family, generous heart, and the wisdom he shared with those around him. His love and guidance will continue to live on in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The family of Jorge A. Gamboa Sr. would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Anacare Hospice for the compassionate care, kindness, and support provided to Jorge and his loved ones during his final days.
Though our hearts are saddened by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that his legacy of love, strength, and family will endure for generations to come.
