It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jose Antonio Bonilla Salazar, age 44, who left us too soon on October 2, 2025. Born to Felipe De Jesus Bonilla Gutierrez and Bertha Bonilla Salazar, Jose was a beloved son, father, brother, and friend.
Jose was a devoted husband to Lisa Garcia, with whom he shared a deep bond of love and partnership. Together, they built a life full of memories, laughter, and support for one another. Jose was also a proud and devoted father to his children: Jose Bonilla Delgado, Karina Bonilla, Valerie Bonilla, and Vanessa Flores. His love for his children was unwavering, and his presence in their lives will be profoundly missed. Jose’s legacy will live on through them and the values he instilled in each of them—strength, kindness, and an enduring commitment to family.
He is also survived by his father, Felipe De Jesus Bonilla Gutierrez; his mother, Bertha Bonilla Salazar; and his brother, Felipe De Jesus Bonilla Salazar. Throughout his life, Jose remained close to his family, finding joy in shared memories and the bond that tied them together.
Jose was known for his sense of humor, ability to befriend anyone and his dedication to his family. He had a way of making those around him feel seen and heard, offering support and encouragement whenever it was needed. Whether he was spending time with family, enjoying a quiet moment, or sharing laughter with friends, Jose’s presence brought a special light to every room.
While words can never fully capture the impact Jose had on the lives of those who loved him, we find comfort in knowing that his love, his lessons, and his spirit will remain with us forever.
A memorial service will be held at Brookside Funeral Home & Memorial Park on Sunday October 26, 2025, to celebrate his life and the love he gave so freely.
Rest in peace, Jose. You are forever loved and will be deeply missed.
