

In loving memory of a remarkable man, Jose “Wally” Cumpian who dedicated his life to his country and community. As a former Marine, he exemplified honor, courage, and commitment throughout his years of service. Following his military tenure, he embarked on a 32-year career as a dedicated postal carrier, serving with diligence and dedication.
Beyond his professional achievements, Jose found solace and joy in his beloved hobbies. An avid self-taught guitarist, his music filled the air with melodies that touched the hearts of many. Whether he was strumming the strings alone or sharing his passion with loved ones, his music was a reflection of his heart of gold.
In addition to his love of music, Jose found peace and tranquility near the water where he spent time casting his line and unwinding. Fishing was a pastime he enjoyed after he retired when he had time to do things that brought him joy and fulfillment.
Above all else, Jose was a devoted husband, cherished father, and beloved grandfather. His love and adoration of his family knew no bounds and he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Jose faced his health challenges with unwavering strength and resilience. Meeting every obstacle with courage and bravery. Though he may have strummed his final chord and cast his last line, Jose will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace surrounded by the melodies of heaven.
Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Celia Cumpian and his brother Joe Angel Castillo. He is survived by his wife, Elena Cumpian of 41 years; son Jose Cumpian, and his wife, Renee; daughter, Michelle DiBiasio and her husband Logan; and 6 grandchildren, Michael DeKinderen, Noah Cumpian, Brinley DiBiasio, Carter Cumpian, Cameron DiBiasio, and James Cumpian.
