Jose L. Hinojosa

Jose met Juana Maria Gallegos in Mexico, and they were married on August 21, 1971. Together, they built a loving family and shared over five decades of marriage.

He lived a full and devoted life, surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, all of whom loved him dearly. A lifelong Astros fan, Jose made baseball a part of family life. No matter what was happening, he tried to never miss a game — and his family often made sure the TV was on during gatherings so he could keep up with the score. His love for the Astros became a family tradition — a part of celebrations, conversations, and memories.

Jose is survived by his loving wife, Juana Hinojosa; sons, Abel Hinojosa and his wife, Christina Cisneros; Raul Hinojosa and his wife, Sandy Hinojosa; Jose L. Hinojosa Jr. and his wife, Dolores Hinojosa; daughter, Claudia Hinojosa, and her partner, Orlando Ochoa. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Ashley Hinojosa, Alexis Hinojosa, Gisele Hinojosa, Faith Hinojosa, Ellyana Hinojosa, Jazmine Hinojosa, Gynesa Hinojosa, and Celeste Hinojosa; and his great-grandson, Mateo Hinojosa.

A visitation for Jose will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, followed by a funeral from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
