Jose Francisco Segovia

Jose Francisco Segovia, fondly known as Papa Che, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, February 4, 2024. He was 75 years old. A native of Laredo, he was born in 1949 to Fidencia and Jose Segovia and was one of six children.

Jose met his beautiful wife, Ana Maria Segovia, at the age of 16 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. They were married on June 14, 1974 and created a strong family for his four children. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

Papa Che was a husband, dad and grandpa who cherished spending time with his family. He especially adored his grandchildren Verito, Alejandro and Manny and enjoyed attending their many events and extracurricular activities. His grandkids will truly miss him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Fidencia Segovia, Andres Segovia (brother), Maria Candelaria Segovia (sister), and Manuel Segovia (brother).

Jose is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ana Maria Segovia; and his children Anna Candelaria Segovia, Veronica Segovia, Jose Francisco Segovia Jr (Marisol), Emmanuel Segovia (Marisa); his grandchildren Veronica, Alejandro and Emmanuel Jr. He is also survived by his brothers, nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated for Jose on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 5560 Laurel Creek Way, Houston, TX 77017. Following the funeral mass there will be a committal service & burial at 11:00 AM at Grand View Memorial Park- Bethany Cemetery, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505.

Jose's family appreciates the many kind expressions of love and concern extended to them during this time of bereavement. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
