Jose Esteban Torres

He was born in San Benito, Texas on December 26, 1953. Jose graduated from Santa Ana High School and attended Chapman College. He was married to Stacie Torres on December 8, 2017.

Jose bravely served in the United States Air Force for ten years. Following, he built a career working in the Greyhound Lines Inc. for 26 years as well as several other bus companies throughout his life.

Jose was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys football team and enjoyed watching the games with his family. He treasured bringing the family together and making Thanksgiving dinner while watching a Cowboys game. Jose had a passion for fishing and loved to spend the day out by the water. He enjoyed taking long road trips with his wife, brother and sister-in-law to various locations across the United States. Jose also cherished time spent making memories playing with his great-granddaughter and great-nieces at the beach. He also enjoyed playing with his great-niece and great-nephews in the snow in Montana.

Jose is survived by his devoted and loving wife Stacie of Galveston, children Ana Torres of Warner Robins, Georgia and JoAnna (Jesse) Zamora of San Antonio, Kerry Torres, mother of their children: Steven Torres and Leanne (Mark) Gibson of Dallas, also by his brother Moises (Aida) Torres of Harlingen, and his sister Beatrice Torres (Rutilio Morales) of Fullerton, California. Jose has seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.

Jose is preceded in death by baby daughter Miranda, his parents Moises Torres Sr. and Anita Torres, and his brothers Juan Torres and Graciano Torres.

Stacie and family would like to thank the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center doctors and nurses from Units 3B and 4D for their kindness and compassionate care in the most difficult of days.

A Committal Service will be held at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038, US, on May 22, 2026, from 2:15 pm to 2:45 pm, with instructions to meet in lane 2 at 2:00pm.
