Jose Vela, Jr (Joe), age 60 passed away at his home in Houston Texas, on November 23, 2020. Joe was born in San Diego, Texas on October 25, 1960 to Jose and Olivia Vela. Joe worked as a carpenter from the moment he got out of school. Joe enjoyed making anything out of wood, playing pool, country music and burning meat on the pit, for family, friends and benefits.
His parents, Jose Vela and Olivia Vela preceded him in death. He is survived by siblings Juan, Elma, Orlando, and Javier, with numerous nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends. Many thanks to family members and friends who checked on him daily.
Family and friends will gather to honor his memory at Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 29, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be Monday, November 30, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. with the interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
