Jose Armando Villarreal Martinez, 65, passed away on September 7, 2026 in Houston, Texas. He was born on October 2, 1960, in Matamoros, Mexico, to Ramon O. Martinez and Lidia V. Martinez. The fourth of ten siblings, Jose was a member of a large family, shaped by deep roots and enduring bonds.
A skilled contractor and electrician, Jose approached his work with quiet focus and dependable care. He took pride in what his hands could build and repair, and his steady manner was evident both in the quality of his work and in the confidence others placed in him. His enjoyment of electrical work was more than a trade—it was a lasting interest that remained close to him throughout his life.
On June 1, 1984, Jose married Teresa De Jesus Estrada in Houston, Texas. Together they built a family and shared the blessings of three children. Through the years, Jose also found meaning in traveling and in the life of his community and neighborhood (Monte Beach Northside), valuing the connections and familiar places that make a home.
Jose was preceded in death by his father, and his brothers Ramon V. Martinez, Oscar V. Martinez, and Victor "El Bebito" Martinez.
He is survived by his wife Teresa Martinez; his mother Lidia Villarreal Martinez; his children Armando Junior Martinez, Elizabeth Martinez, and Janet Martinez; and his grandchildren: Izaiah Jesus Martinez, Haizel Lyzelle Martinez, Mariah Sky Martinez, Nathan Jermiah Martinez, Messiah Jermoni Martinez, and Jizelle Jazlyn Paguada Martinez, and his siblings Jorge Martinez, Alma DeLatorre, Mario Martinez, David Martinez, Victor Martinez, and Lidia "Lily" Elizondo.
Those who knew Jose will also remember the familiar humor and plainspoken ease found in his favorite sayings: "You ain't right lol" and "I care but I don't worry about it. Well. I do worry but I don't care lol." And, in his own unmistakable way: Fa Sho! Fa Sho! "God Is Great, Beer is good, and people are crazy."
