Memorial Services will be held 10:30 am, Friday, July 29, 2016 at St. John Vianney, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail Houston, TX 77079-6234.

Celebration of life to follow, 12 noon at the Memorial Club Townhouses Clubhouse, 1211 Country Place Drive, Houston, Texas 77079.

Private Inurnment will follow the memorial for the immediate family.

Joe was born in Rochester, PA, March 22, 1941 to Josef Heinrich Buerger V and Barbara McNally. Much of his childhood was spent in Trenton, NJ. Joe was a proud retiree of the U.S. Navy. After the service Joe met his lovely bride, Lelia Marie Totten. They were joined in holy matrimony June 29, 1968 in Pittsburgh, PA. Their marriage lasted a commendable 48 years, until Joe’s unexpected passing. Joe and Lelia moved to Cleveland, Ohio shortly after being wed for Joe’s job in the steel and wire cloth fabrication industry. In the spring of 1969, they welcomed their first child, Fritz. Joe’s career brought the family to Troy, Michigan before settling the family in 1972 to Houston, TX. In the spring of 1973, they welcomed their second child, Julee. The family was then blessed in winter of 1977 with another son, Nicholas.

Joe enjoyed many hobbies in his 75 years, such as fishing, tinkering on cars, designing software for his personal computer, all things sci-fi, and in his later years, traveling abroad with his wife, Lelia. Joe also had a great affection for animals, especially his beloved dog, Winnie. He will be deeply missed by all that loved him.

Joe leaves behind his loving wife, Lelia Totten Buerger; son Fritz Buerger and wife Kelly, grandchildren Chase and Brayden; daughter Julee Mason and husband Ronnie, grandchildren Christopher and Abigail; and son Nicholas Buerger and wife Heather, grandchild Lauren. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Josef and Barbara Buerger, as well as, his sister Lisa Buerger.
