Josefa Cabrera, age 92, of Houston, Texas gained her wings on Thursday, December 14, 2023. She was born in Houston, Texas on June 1, 1931 to Isabel Ponce and Guadalupe Luna. She met the love of her life, Jose Cabrera and they got married July 16, 1952. From that love, they had 6 children, 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She enjoyed cross stitch and spending time in her yard taking care of her plants and flowers. Throughout her life, she took care of many children for relatives and friends and was a grandmother figure to them. She had a great sense of humor without realizing it. There was never a boring moment when she was in a room because she had people laughing. We will miss her dearly, but blessed that God gave us her presence for so many years. Her memory is forever in our hearts and be shared for years to come. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jose Cabrera, loving son, Jesus Cabrera, parents, Isabel and Guadalupe Ponce, sister, Maria Elena, brothers, Juan, Luis, Guadalupe and Andres Ponce. She is survived by her sons, Joe (Mary) and Isidro and daughters, Esperanza Lugo (Adalberto), Guadalupe Alcaraz, Consuelo Vela (Armando), daughter in law, Sandra Cabrera, her sister, Apolonia Ponce and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A visitation for Josefa will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. A chapel service will occur Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, TX 77003. A visitation will occur Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. A committal service will occur Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm at Historic Hollywood Cemetery, 3506 N Main St, Houston, TX 77009.
