

Receiving a Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Oswego University in 1984 then worked as a substitute teacher and coach. In 1987, he moved to Houston then worked for State sponsored agencies which provide services to adults with cognitive disabilities.
He met then married Jennifer in 1999 and became a loving father to his stepchildren Natalia and Sergio. Joey was not shy in letting everyone know just how lucky he was to have her in his life and the joy she brought to him.
Joey had an insatiable passion for Music, compiling a staggering collection of over 10,000 pieces of work from every Genre from the Classics of the 60’s & 70’s to the cutting edge of the Underground Music scene. His passion didn’t end with Music as he was a lifelong Sports enthusiast enjoying Basketball, Hockey, Baseball & Golf.
He was a loyal friend maintaining a close relationship with friends and family via long distance and Social Media. When calling home regularly, he would always inquire about his friends in Oswego, their children and all his Nieces and Nephews. He would never waste an opportunity to boast about his Grand Children and Great Grand Children. He was so grateful to be able to spend so much time with them. He had a quirky, if not adoring sense of humor and his steel trap memory could leave you laughing for hours and wanting more. He will be profoundly missed by all that had the pleasure to know him.
Joey is survived by his wife Jennifer and Stepson Sergio and wife Talia Salinas, Grand Children Jessica Solorzano, Alyza & Jacella Soto, Julian & Eli Salinas and Great Grand Children Azier, Alexander & Nehemiah. He is also survived by his mother Eileen Amedio and siblings Michael (Kathy) Amedio of Oswego NY, Julie (Irwin) Flack of Philadelphia PA, David (Dorothea) Amedio of Algonquin IL, Thomas (Nanette) Amedio of Oswego NY and Steven (Lacy) Amedio of Charlotte NC. Joey was predeceased by his father Joseph Amedio and Stepdaughter Natalia Salinas.
