

Joseph Azzollini (Joe), of Kingwood, Texas, passed at his home April 4, 2016 with his wife and two children by his side. Joe was born on May 31, 1945 in New York, son of Dominick and Ann Azzollini. He married his wife Patricia (Pat) on March 31, 1973 in Floral Park, NY. Joe retired from Shell Oil Company in 2004 after a successful 33 year career, including receiving the Laural Society award in 1990. Prior to working at Shell, he served two years in the United States Army as a military police officer.
Joe was an avid model train hobbyist and passed his love of trains on to his children and grandchildren. Joe enjoyed traveling with family and friends and was given many opportunities to see the world through his position at Shell. He enjoyed completing crossword puzzles and playing solitaire. In the past four years what brought him the most joy was spending time with his grandsons…when they walked into the room a unique smile could be seen on Joe’s face.
Joe is survived by his wife Pat, daughter Anne Marie, son Joseph, daughter- in-law Linda, grandsons: Dominick and Michael, sister Rosemary Orlando and “brother” Richard Chitos. Joe was preceded in death by his father and mother Dominick and Ann. Serving as pallbearers are Joe’s son, Joseph, brother in law Robert Jodal, nephews James and Peter Jodal, and dear friends Rainer Latteier and Stephen Dunning.
The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 5-9pm with a rosary at 7pm in the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm on Friday, April 15, 2016 officiated by Fr. Richard McNeillie at St. Martha’s Catholic Church, 4301 Woodridge Parkway, Porter, Texas 77365 followed by a rite of committal at Brookside Memorial Park & Cemetery. Everyone attending the funeral service is invited to Italiano’s to continue to celebrate Joe’s life with his favorite food…Italian.
