It is with a shock to hear about Chip's passing. Although we lost track of each other; I will always remember his laid back manner, his smile and his willingness to help. My sincerest condolences to his family.

I am still in shock that Chip is no longer with us. Chip's cheerful and gentle demeanor will be very much missed. Deepest sympathies to the family.

Chip was, hands down, my favorite person to work with and be around. Very few people I know have met Chip and not walked away with a smile on their face.  I cannot imagine what his family is going through right now, but hopefully, the fact that he has touched so many lives in positive ways, will ease their burden at least a little. I did not know Chip well but - since 2001 when SLB acquired Western-Geophysical - was always impressed by his positive attitude and professionalism. I am extremely sad by his passing away.

For 15 years I worked in Chip's organization and I quickly found that collaboration with Chip meant things were guaranteed to get better. I feel a deep loss, but Chip's always-friendly attitude, willingness to cooperate, teach and share will live on in those of us that were privileged work alongside him.

My sincerest condolences to Chip's family.  Chip and I never spent much time talking, but he was always quick with a happy greeting and smile.  He was a nice guy to have around, knew the map as a programmer, and always seemed up beat.  Chip, you left us too early.

Whoever is reading this will likely not know my name. I am just one voice, one of so many individuals whose life Chip has touched.  I have been working with him for 17 years.  He always seemed happy and full of life. His upbeat personality lifted the atmosphere whenever he was around. I cannot yet comprehend that he won't be around anymore to brighten our day with his inviting smile and laughter. He is terribly missed.  My condolences and heartfelt sympathies to his family and all of his close friends.

Chip, it's been over 10 years since we last spoke.  I'm sorry that we lost touch.  I often thought about reconnecting with you but I never did.  I regret that now.  We used to have great times hanging out drinking a beer watching football or listening to rock and roll.  I'll miss you buddy.

I will greatly miss getting together with Chip when he and Lisa would come to Austin for Longhorn games.  Chip and I would discuss which 70's  bands were "real" bands and which were wimps while sipping on a good ale.

I was saddened to hear of Chip's passing.  Chip was one of the most positive and upbeat people that I've known.  It was a real pleasure to work with him.  Back when A&M and UT were in the same conference we had many good conversations about the fortunes of our respective teams. I will miss those conversations.

Chip! you have been a great person, your knowledge, support and your occasionally delivered funny comments always impressed me and made me happy. I miss wishing you morning and bidding you evening everyday. My condolences to family. Tough time for all of us.

Chip was one of my best friends growing up in Jackson, Tn.  As kids we would sleep over at each others house and listen to music and play sports. I remember Chip took nearly all of the academic and sports awards at the Tigrett Junior High awards ceremony.  The memories are too long to list. It's very sad Chip had to leave us at such an young age. I will think of him often in the coming years.

This is such a shock, but I have nothing but happy memories of Chip - both as a colleague, such a great guy to work with, and as a friend. He was always happy to spend some time talking about mutual interests - notably music - different bands, and British TV, PBS and so on. I didn't share his excitement about UT football, but I know how much that meant to him too! (And we even talked about soccer!) 
It was always fun to bump into him and Lisa at a show around town. So, the next time we're at a good show at the House of Blues, Fitzgeralds or the like, we'll remember Chip - he'll be there!
