

Joseph Robert Imber Jr., passed away on Saturday, the 10th of August 2024, in Houston, Texas, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family after a thirteen and a half year battle with cancer. He was a native Houstonian born on the 15th of April 1952, to Christine and Joseph Robert Imber. Robert grew up in Tanglewood, attended St. Michael Catholic School and later St. Thomas High School. He graduated from The University of Texas where he was a Texas Cowboy and a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. After earning his MBA at Houston Baptist University, Robert achieved success in several different business ventures.
He is survived by his wife Amy of 42 years, his three children, Katie (Fernando), Leslie (Natalie), and J.R. III (Amanda). He is also survived by sister Katie Schuller-Bleakie (Max) and nephew Clayton Schuller (Emily) and their children Will and Owen.
Robert was passionate about his University of Texas Longhorns, his lifelong golfing buddies at River Oaks Country Club, his family, and most of all, his Catholic faith. Whether you knew him as Robert, Baby Bear, Bad Bob, Ice Cream Man, or Dad, he would want you to live your life as he spent his, with no limits.
Friends are cordially invited to gather with the family for a recitation of the holy rosary at half-past four o’clock the afternoon on Thursday, the 15th of August, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
Immediately following all are invited to join the family for a reception in the adjacent grand foyer until seven o’clock in the evening.
