

Joseph Nnanna Njoku, 66, died on December 20, 2020 in Houston, Texas. He was born May 16, 1954 in the village of Ihechiowa in Abia State, Nigeria to his parents, Njoku and Hannah Njoku. He was the oldest of five children (four boys and one girl). Joseph moved to the United States in the mid 70’s where he attended Mankato State University (now Minnesota State University, Mankato), in Mankato, Minnesota. He graduated with a degree in Accounting in 1980 before moving to Houston, Texas in 1981.
Joseph received his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in the late 80’s and was a small business owner and entrepreneur who owned an accounting practice in Houston for over 33 years. He took great pride in his career and in helping people with their financial needs. He was also one of the original founders of the Houston African Chamber of Commerce, which aided in growing African businesses in the city. In addition, he was a member and leader in local Nigerian organizations and often contributed to his family and the people in his home village of Ihechiowa in Nigeria. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports, and going to church.
Joseph was preceded in death by his Father Njoku and his Mother Hannah. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his children Mgbore, Naomi, Njoku, Udo, Patricia, Basil, and his grandchildren Kadyn, Dylan, and Emmalee.
