

After graduating high school in 1963, Joe worked at Pabst Brewing Company while attending Bradley University. In 1966, Joe was drafted to serve in the Vietnam War. While he was stationed in Corpus Christi, he met and fell in love with Sally Park. After a brief courtship, they were married on October 14, 1966. They had two children, Brian Kelly and Michael Shane. Joe started his business, The PC Paramedics, in 1987 and retired in 2017.
Joe was a devoted husband, father, and grandpa. He was a hard worker who never asked for anything for himself. He was a meek and humble man, always willing to serve others, the church, and God. He loved to make people smile and laugh, especially his grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sally, his son Brian and his wife Christine, and their children Mikaela and McKenna, and his son Michael and his wife Melissa, and their children Mackenzie and Joseph. He is also survived by his sister Donna Thomas, his brother Jim Wittmer and his wife Ann, his brother Dale Wittmer and his wife Sue, his sister Doris Hutchinson, and his brother Sam Wittmer, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
