Josephine Ling Aguilar, 68, a loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend was called to heaven on December 14, 2018. Josie was born January 1, 1950 to Maria Rodriguez Perez and Bing Ling Gee in Houston, Texas.
Josie was the beloved wife of Mario Aguilar with whom she shared 33 years of marriage. She loved spending time with family and friends and cherished time with children. She was thoughtful and creative, loved writing, poetry and crafts. She had various interests including sports and was a loyal fan of Houston teams especially the Astros. Josie also had a special fondness for animals and adored her cat Tangee.
Josie worked for Houston I.S.D. Library Services and retired in 2010. She enjoyed her job and shared many fond memories of co-workers, students and families. After her retirement, she pursued her education and subsequently graduated from Ashford University with a degree in Social Science with an Education Endorsement.
As a devoted Catholic, Josie shared her faith. She prayed with and for others, attended church regularly and studied the bible. Her faith and love of God were an important part of her life and helped give her comfort when facing loss and her own illness.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Maria Rodriguez Perez and Bing Ling Gee, sister Janie, brothers Edward, Jimmy, and Raymond. Josie leaves behind her loving husband Mario, her brother, Marcos, nieces and nephews and many family members and friends. She was loved and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 4136 Broadway St., Houston, TX 77087, on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 1-9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. The funeral will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
