Josephine Gertrude McFall

Josephine (Jo) Gertrude McFall, born 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA, passed away November 9, 2021 in Houston, TX at the age of 91. Jo is preceded in death by her husband Robert P. McFall. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage which brought forth seven children: Mary Jo Marshall, Karen Pomonis, Theresa Wagner, Linda McFall, Michael McFall, Robert McFall, and Ann Hunt. Jo is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Josephine Urbaniak, brother Francis and his wife Carol, sister Helen Mueser and her husband Richard, brother-in-law Roland “Bud” Stadelman, sister-in-law Lorraine Urbaniak, great-granddaughter Isabel Grace Woodrum.

In 1960, the growing McFall family settled in Houston and joined St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. Jo stayed very busy as a home-maker to her large family while dedicating her free time to volunteering in the church’s Social Service office; Charitable organization F.I.S.H.; St. Theresa’s Womens Club and Catholic Daughters of the Americas – Court Christ the King #1750. Jo was a fixture in the St. Theresa Choir until she retired at the age of 84. She stood beside her husband as they headed the Raffle Booth at the annual church bazaar for 40 years. Through her service to the church and others, she was a living example of love and prayerful charity to all her children. Jo’s legacy lives on through her surviving seven children, fourteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Although Alzheimer’s may have made it difficult for her to recognize faces, she never lost her prayers or her joy of singing.

A visitation with the family for Josephine will be held Monday, November 29, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77024. A rosary will occur Monday, November 29, 2021 at 7:00 PM, 8303 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77024. A mass of christian burial will occur Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell St, Houston, TX 77007.
