Joy Lynn Hamilton

Joy Lynn Hunt Hamilton was born September 11, 1935 in Henderson, Texas passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 in Houston, Texas. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Preceded in death by parents Ruby and Jay Hunt, and sister Jay Nell Hunt Smith. Survived by daughter Julie French and her husband Peter, son Jay Hamilton and his wife Pam, grandchildren Zachary and Caroline French, niece Kimberly Zaunbrecher, her husband Randy, and their son Truitt, cousins Jenna Ashby, Jean Anderson, Robert Compton and Mac Compton.

After moving to Houston in 1959, Joy worked for Red Adair Wild Well Control for 20 years. She also worked at Antones and Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. During her retirement years, she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, canasta, and spending time with her family, friends, beloved grandchildren, and precious Dachshund Winston.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home from 5:00 - 8:00pm. A service will be held on October 6, 2012 in her home town of Henderson, Texas.
