

Joyce M. (Bourgeois) Craig, 69, of Houston Texas passed away on April 4, 2015 after complications from cancer. Joyce was born in Marlboro, MA, daughter of Henry and Deena (Lepore) Bourgeois and graduated from Marlboro High School in 1964. She had a very successful career as a human resource professional and moved to Albuquerque, NM 38 years ago while employed by Digital Corporation. She relocated to the Houston area while employed with Hewlett Packard (HP). For the past six years she worked at North Cypress Medical Center in the HR Department as a Human Resource Manager. Her professionalism, positive attitude, and desire to help others – ensured her success in this field.
Joyce was an avid gardener and preferred the outdoors. She created a paradise in her yard filled with chirping birds and flowers of all shapes and colors. Anyone who knew Joyce couldn’t help but be aware of her boundless love of animals; she always had cats in her life and would often rescue strays whenever they crossed her path. Her beloved labs, Riley and Ruby were a great source of joy to her. She was a true humanitarian and provided countless volunteer hours to community service work.
Joyce is predeceased by her mother, Deena, and father, Henry as well as her brother, James, and step sister, Rita. She leaves behind two daughters, Allison and her husband Kirk of Maryland and Andrea and her husband Ray of Virginia along with two grandsons, Hayden and Tristan. Her brother Henry and his wife Sharon of Kennebunk, Maine; her brother Charlie and his wife Darlene of Marlboro and many nieces and nephews whom were very dear to her along with her great nieces and nephews.
Joyce was an outgoing fun loving person who found making friends easy. She left behind many dear friends, neighbors and coworkers who can only be described as family. Her Houston family walked with her during her final years supporting and caring for her. Her strength in the face of adversity was an inspiration to all who knew her and through it all she never lost her sense of humor or her love of life.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her friends, neighbors, co-workers and the exceptional staff of North Cypress Medical Center as well as Good Shepherd Hospice for their support and compassionate care. Joyce and all of us are thankful to each one of you, and will carry your warm spirts with us always.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to your local animal shelter, Save a Lab Foundation, or the American Cancer Society. The Memorial Service will be held on April 30th from 1:00-2:00pm with a reception following at Brookside Funeral Home – Cypress Creek, Houston, TX. An additional Memorial Service will be held in Marlboro with dates and times to be announced.
