Joyce Ann Harris, born on January 18, 1947, passed away on September 28, 2025, at the age of 78. A resident of Houston, Texas, Joyce was known for her adventurous, beloved, faithful, generous, hard-working, honest, humorous, kind-hearted, loyal, resilient, and selfless nature.
Joyce was a graduate of the University of Houston, where she laid the foundation for a fulfilling career. She dedicated 35 years to education, impacting countless lives as a teacher.
On August 12, 1967, Joyce married Larry Harris, with whom she shared a loving life. She is survived by her husband, Larry Harris, daughter Sandra Trevino and husband Jeff and their son, Nathan Trevino. Joyce was preceded in death by her daughter, Stacey Harris, and her parents, Ernest and Helen Bullock.
Joyce and her husband Larry shared a passion for camping and were members of a camping group, enjoying the great outdoors together.
A dedicated teacher, wife, mother, and grandmother, Joyce leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment to her family and community. Her family is grateful to the caretakers who were with Joyce and her family daily.
A visitation will be held at the American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038, on October 15, 2025, at 10:00 am. A Celebration of Life service will follow at the same venue from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm. The committal service will follow at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038, on October 15, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.
