Joyce Trask

Joyce Schnell Trask, 78, of Houston passed away peacefully on February 1, 2014. Joyce was born in Houston, TX and graduated as the Valedictorian of San Jacinto High School in 1952. She spent one year at the University of Texas before transferring to Rice Institute (University). Joyce graduated Phi Beta Kappa at Rice with a degree in English in 1956. She received many accolades during her scholastic career for excellence. She worked for ten years in public relations for Exxon in the 1960’s. In 1982 she started an industrial PVF wholesaler, TRACO Industries, Inc., which she ran for twenty years.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Agatha Schnell and her former husband Orville Trask. She is survived by her son Michael Trask and his wife Terri, grandsons Hayden and Kyle Trask, cousins Catherine Compton, Katie Pearson, Irene Kaiser, and many other cousins. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 5-8pm at Advantage Funeral Home, 7010 Chetwood Houston, Texas 77081. Interment will be at 2:30pm at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale St. Houston, Texas 77023
