Joyce Marion Young

Joyce Marion Young, a beloved woman, passed away on September 18, 2024, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 93.

Born on March 6, 1931, and raised in Canada, she came to the US in the late 1950’s. She enjoyed many things in life, which included her life in Texas with family and friends, as well as the outdoors where she was raised in Canada. She also grew up with the love for the game of tennis in her younger days, where she had played in a few semi professional tennis tournaments. She was also quite passionate about horse racing and enjoyed spending time at the racetrack. And with her love for horses, she also very much enjoyed her cherished visits to stables to see her favorite horses. Joyce was a very devoted wife to her cherished husband, G.G. "Bud" Young, who had preceded her death in 2000. Joyce is survived by her nephew, Christian Daugaard, her stepsons, Kevin and Keith Young, and multiple step-grandchildren. Joyce was also known for her strong work ethic and attention to detail, where she had a long and successful career as an executive secretary at Harding Oil in Dallas, Texas, and later at Marathon Oil in Houston, Texas, where she retired at the age of 83. In keeping with her wishes, Joyce was cremated, and no funeral services were held.
