It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Juan "Johnny Boy" Luna, who departed from us on May 4th, 2024, to join the Lord. Juan, affectionately known as "Johnny Boy," touched the lives of many with his vibrant spirit and unwavering love for life.
Born on September 16, 1977, in Harlingen, Texas, Juan brought joy to those around him from the very beginning. Despite facing the challenges of being a deaf mute, he never let his disabilities hinder his zest for life. Juan possessed an incredible talent for feeling the rhythm of music, effortlessly keeping up with the bass and never missing a beat. He found true happiness in witnessing the joy and happiness of others, his infectious smile lighting up any room he entered.
Throughout his life, Juan faced numerous obstacles, yet he always managed to find humor in every situation and wore a smile that could brighten even the darkest of days. He shared a special bond with his brother, Joe ("Pino"), spending cherished moments together, especially during their time at work. Juan was lovingly raised by his sister, Norma, who showered him with affection and ensured he had everything he desired, including his beloved sports jerseys and championship shirts.
An avid sports enthusiast, Juan's passion for football was unmatched. He possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of the game and its legendary players, with an unwavering loyalty to his favorite teams, including the Baltimore Ravens, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and his beloved Philadelphia Eagles. He was a social butterfly, making friends wherever he went, and his presence will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Juan's love for dancing was evident to all who knew him, as he gracefully moved to the vibrations of the music, embracing the joy of the dance floor. He had a deep appreciation for cinema, amassing a collection of movies that reflected his diverse interests and passions.
Juan is survived by his brothers, Jose “Pino” Luna and Jose de Jesus “Juni” Luna, and his sisters, Esmeralda Luna and Norma Gonzalez. He adored his nephews, Brandon and Nick Gonzalez, treating them as though they were his own brothers and always ensuring their happiness and well-being.
Though Juan may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will forever be our guardian angel, watching over us with the same love and warmth that he shared during his time on earth.
Rest in peace, dear Juan. You will be deeply missed, but your memory will forever be cherished.

A visitation for Juan will be held Friday, May 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Cr, 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, TX 77095, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
