Born on April 6, 1934, in Huancayo, Peru, to Adolf Mitterhofer Mohl and Irene Mercedes Gutierrez, Juan lived a life defined by love, resilience, and generosity.
As an immigrant, Juan worked tirelessly to build a better future for his family, taking on many different jobs with pride and determination. Later, he trained as a massage therapist, sharing his
caring touch with others.
Juan had a remarkable passion for world history and geography - you could ask him any question, and he would gladly share his knowledge. His love of travel took him all over the United States and to places around the world, including Qatar, Australia, and many others.
Fulfilling one of his lifelong dreams, he visited the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt in April 2024. His love extended deeply to animals. Juan called his dogs his children and cared for them as lovingly as he did his own family. Over the years, he also looked after many other creatures, including doves and chickens, showing them the same kindness and gentleness that defined his life.
He found peace and happiness in his garden, especially among his cherished roses. Over the years, he planted countless roses, tending to them with the same devotion he gave to those he
loved.
Juan was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria E. Mitterhofer; his son, Walter Mitterhofer; and his daughter, Katty Pasier. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters Irene Olson, Ana England, and Sissi Perez, and by his son Franz Mitterhofer, along with his stepchildren, whom he raised as his own - Olinda Bard, Maria Moore, Juan Cazorla, and Luis Cazorla.
The Mitterhofer family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Methodist Hospice Hospital for their compassionate and attentive care during Juan's final days.
