Juan Manuel was born on November 24, 1946, to Antolín Silva Camacho and Guadalupe Treviño Ríos. He attended Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo León in Monterrey, Mexico, where he earned his Doctorate as a Dental Surgeon in 1970. His dedication to his profession led him to a remarkable career spanning more than 47 years with Dr. James Moye and later Dr. Brian Moye. He loyally served his patients and colleagues until his retirement.
On November 18, 1978, Juan Manuel married the love of his life, Annabelle Silva and moved to this country, sacrificing his career in Mexico to live here. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and love. He was a devoted husband, loving father and a proud Abu to his grandchildren.
A devoted Catholic, Juan Manuel was a member of Assumption Catholic Church for 40 years. His faith was evident through his service as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Bazaar Committee member, and with his wife, a member of the Sponsor Couple Program, preparing young couples for Catholic marriage. He lived his faith daily through prayer, acts of kindness, generosity, and service to others.
Juan Manuel loved both playing and watching sports. In his younger days, he played with a soccer league in Houston, and he never missed a soccer game when his beloved Tigres UANL from Monterrey were playing. He coached his son’s soccer and baseball teams and always attended his grandson’s baseball games. He also liked watching the Astros games with his wife and grandson.
Following retirement, he and Annabelle traveled throughout Europe and Mexico, and even went on an Alaskan cruise with some close friends, creating treasured memories together. Additionally, Juan Manuel adored spending time with his grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to attend their activities.
Juan Manuel was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Manuel and Sara Silva; his sister, Maria Guadalupe Mantis, and her husband, John Mantis, his sister Idalia Moreno, and her husband, Efrain Moreno; and his beloved niece, Anabel Moreno.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Annabelle Silva; son Brian Silva; daughter Lauren Patterson and husband Brent; grandchildren, Ashlynn Ross and husband Corey, Thomas Patterson and Sara Patterson; and numerous devoted nieces and nephews, other loving family members and many cherished friends.
