

Juan A. Torres, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 12, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on June 24, 1943, in Houston, Texas, and met his wife Angie Reyes at a local drive in movie theater where she worked. They married in Houston, Texas in 1962 and had 3 children. Juan lived a life filled with love, family, and fun. He was a loving husband to his wife, Angie R. Torres, and a proud father to John A. Torres, Edward Torres, and Lisa Torres Ysaguirre and her husband David Ysaguirre. Juan was a cherished grandfather to Desiree Albarran, Veronica Davilla,Tim Ochoa, Ryan C. Torres, Leslie Torres, Christie Torres, Maura Torres, John Paul Torres, Christie E., Alyssa Torres, and Samantha Torres. He was also a loving great-grandfather to Mia Isabella, Ava, Ela, and Noa, Isaac, Aiden, Evelynn, and Wyatt, Tianna, Caleb, Daniel, Johnathon, Gabbi, Eli, Owen, Jace, Jaxen, and Emery. He is survived by his siblings, Juan R., Jose, Pedro, and Jesse, Paul Torres, and Valentin Varela, as well as his sisters, Guadalupe, Rosie, Celia, Rachel Carvajal, and Madeline Varela Garcia.
Throughout his life, Juan worked as an auto mechanic, diesel mechanic, and forman at P&S Rice Mill. He also owned and operated Torres Trucking Services for 20 years. His passions included music, baseball, football, rebuilding hot rod engines, racing his Mustang at the drag strip, building, boating, fishing, traveling, hunting, and camping on his and Angie's five acres of land.
Juan was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, St. Leo Catholic Church, and St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, and his faith was an integral part of his life. He loved God, Jesus, and the Virgen Mary, and his family was his greatest accomplishment. His favorite saying was "If you are going to kill it, you better eat it." When it came to hunting on his and Angie's land, he lived by those words and shared many joyful moments with his family and friends there.
Juan was known for his quick wit, street smarts, and mechanical aptitude. He was a jack of all trades and a leader who helped and guided others.
Juan was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Torres, Maria R. Torres, and Celia O. Torres.
A Celebration of Life viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 22 from 10:00 am - 8:00 pm at Del Angel Funeraria
A Blessing will take place on: Wednesday, July 23,2025 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Del Angel Funeraria
The Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 11:30 am 12 pm
