

Juanita Ann Brown Bennett, beloved Mother, grandmother, wife, Sister and friend was called “Home to be with our Lord”, May 26, 2022, at the age of 87. Juanita was born in Blytheville, AR July 2, 1934. Her family lived in Chicago and settled in the Houston Heights area. She lived with her parents, Louise & James Noble Brown. She was blessed with sisters, Mary Lou & Erlene, along with her watchful Brother, Jim.
Juanita met husband, John Wesley Bennett and married Sept. 13, 1952, with Best Man, Gene Bennett and Maid-of – honor, Mary Lou Brown Baker. They were married 38 years until John was laid to rest in 1990.
Her pride & joy were her 2 children, Jeannie Lynn, born 1954, and son John David born 1957.
Juanita is survived by Son John David & daughter-in–law, Belinda Spicer Bennett, Sister Mary Lou Baker, Niece Kitty & Husband Mike Sandel, Nephew Keith and wife Betty Baker. 2 Grandsons: Bill Sterling & Wesley Dale Bennett & his fiancé Natalie Llamas: 1 Granddaughter Lynnita & husband Ken Poole.
She loved her 4 great-grand Children & continued to pray over them although not together as much as she would have loved: Cameron, Kandan, Nicholas, and Landon.
Juanita shared a home with her sister, Mary Lou, for the past 2 decades. They had such a special bond and looked out for one another as only sisterly love can. The Bennett family will always be thankful for how Mary Lou & husband, Don Baker who were both so kind & generous to Juanita over the years.
Juanita was loved by all that met her kind disposition and Love of Jesus. She watched Christian shows and loved Christian music. She was a faithful disciple and shared words of scripture in her guidance as a mother and friend. Juanita did not fear death on earth due to her deep understanding and promise of eternal life.
Juanita’s primary career was with the Alief Independent School District where she was an amazing administrative assistant and later a dispatcher. Her radio-soft voice was heard around the entire district. She made many friends being integral to the Alief community. Juanita was a secret artist who loved to draw and create crafts, especially her silk flowers by hand. She even taught a class. She also loved Jewelry and had a special broach for every occasion. She loved flowers but especially pink roses. Her last bedroom was adorned with pink walls and flower décor. She shared a dry humor with her brother and loved to see how strangers reacted to her jesters.
Juanita’s known purpose was her caregiving heart. Her kindness and love for people was her focus, even at the age of 86. While in rehab with a broken hip, she rolled to other rooms to talk to other patients to make sure they knew they were loved. She would have desired to continue that calling for people in need.
Juanita loved to hug and hold hands. She always ended her encounters with “Love you more”.
A visitation for Juanita will be held Friday, June 17, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, followed by a funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A committal service will follow from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM in the cemetery. A reception will occur Friday, June 17, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM back inside the funeral home.
