Juanita Lucille Wigginton, age 85, of Conroe, Texas passed away on Thursday April 25, 2019. She was the eldest of five born to Ada and Velmer Priest on February 28, 1934. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She married Kenneth Lee Wigginton on January 5, 1952 and they remained married for 24 years until his passing.
Juanita was a graduate of The Institute of Children's Literature. She was a retired teacher, a gifted writer of inspirational works, and had authored a book that is a collection of heartwarming stories about faith, hope, and kindness. Most of her life was spent mentoring children and youth and her all-time favorite activity was reading stories with young children. She directed several plays and believed much learning can be acquired through acting and singing. She was a volunteer in the schools of Conroe, Texas and enjoyed singing with the young children at her church, Bethel Tabernacle, in Houston.
Juanita is survived by; children Judith Johnson, Karen Anthony and her husband Darren, Timothy Wigginton and his wife Sandra; grandchildren Kenneth Johnson, Jr., Michelle Travers, Stephanie Wigginton, Emily Wigginton Stone, Katie McCauley, Marianne Vargas; and great grandchildren William McCauley, Justin Marcus, Charles Vargas, Kayleigh Marcus-Wallace, Ada Wigginton, Shane Stone, Helena Kowalczyk, Colton Travers, Rory Kowalczyk, Grace Travers, Makana Johnson, Liam Kowalczyk, and many nieces and nephews.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth L. Wigginton; parents Ada and Velmer Priest, and siblings Mary Priest, Raymond Priest, Jean Knapik, Donald Priest.
The family would like to thank her pastor, David Fauss, and her church family for their outpouring of love and support.
A visitation for Juanita will be held Monday, April 29, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bethel Tabernacle, 1020 FM 1960, Houston, Texas 77073, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
