Judy touched all of their lives.
Judy graduated from Reagan High School where she was a member of the drill team. She met Gene in choir at Sam Houston State Teacher's College. She married him in 1958. They were married 58 years. They both loved to praise the Lord with their music. Judy was incredibly gifted with music and received a BA degree in music.
She loved to go to church and was a faithful member. Even when she was visiting her family out of town she went to church to worship her Savior, making friends wherever she went. Judy and her husband, Gene, gave faithfully to their church and to missions and were involved in the music at church for their Sunday School classes and were also choir members at Houston First Baptist where they also served on the Baptism Committee.
Judy loved to play the piano. Even when her memory failed her in many ways, she could still play the piano. Judy also played the banjo and she and Gene were members of the Jubilee Banjo Band and performed on stage in Branson, Missouri and many times at The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston and at many churches.
Judy loved her husband, her boys, and her family and loved being around others. She shared her joy and expanded her heart to each new member of her family. Her grandkids and great grandchildren remember listening to their "Grandmama" reading aloud to them. Her family has fond memories of her smiles and laughter, of her music and sweet and generous heart, and positive outgoing nature.
