Julia McMichael Brittain, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 28, 2018 at her home in Cypress, TX with her family by her side. Julia was born February 27, 1942 in Shreveport, LA to Joseph "Joe" and Frances McGaffey McMichael.
She grew up in Houston, TX and attended Reagan High School, Hardin-Simmons University, and Texas Tech University earning degrees in Zoology and English. She married the love of her life William Bradley Brittain in Houston September 1, 1962. She was a teacher, Girl Scout troop leader, and enjoyed backpacking/camping with her family. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and a great passion for genealogy.
Julia is survived by her husband of 55 years, a son, Scott Brittain, daughter, Amanda "Mandy" and husband John True, two granddaughters, Brittney True and Meadow Potter, all of Cypress, TX. One brother, Joseph Patrick McMichael and wife Kathy of Killeen, TX, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
