Julia Juanita McKain of Pearland, Texas, was born in Cushing, Oklahoma on December 31, 1924, and passed away on March 3, 2019, peacefully in her sleep, at the age of 94.
Her mother and father, William and Pearl Megee, and a daughter, Julia Deanne McKain have preceded her in death. Juanita is survived by her husband of nearly 75 years, Homer Dean McKain; her sister, Roberta Dolores Long; and daughters, Linda Cunningham and husband, Michael; and Judy Spear and husband, David. She has five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Juanita was a faithful member of Richmond Plaza Baptist Church. She loved music and singing in the choir. She also taught the Junior Choir as well as the Senior Choir. Juanita retired from Allstate Insurance Company after many years of dedicated service.
Juanita was so proud of her family. Every holiday was a special event. She loved to cook and when it came to stories about her family, she could remember every detail. Her flower garden was such an enjoyment for her and the flowers even if they were in pots responded with their beauty. She played the organ and was an excellent piano player. And Bingo – how she loved playing Bingo. Her craft classes with painting, etc. were at times a challenge for her, but she loved them.
Juanita was always friendly and well-liked by everyone. She will be greatly missed by the many who loved her. Now she is playing the piano for Jesus and all the angels in Heaven’s Choir.
