

Sergeant Major Julian Jaso Espitia-USMC passed away into the presence of his Savior on June 25, 2014. Julian “JJ” Espitia was born on November 21, 1921 in Bay City Texas to Francisca and Julian Jaso. Julian retired from the United States Marine Corps a decorated veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Julian also went on to retire from the U.S. Postal Service and the City of Houston. Julian loved gardening, was an avid golfer, playing at least twice a week until the age of 89. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus at St Patrick Catholic Church in Houston.
Julian is survived by his sisters Mary Diaz of Houston Texas and Caroline Botello of Bell Flower California, daughter, Jerrie Stewart and husband Walter Stewart, daughter, JoAnn Garcia and husband Joe Garcia, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Julian is preceded in death by his mother Francisca, his father Julian, his brothers Justo Espitia, Natividad Espitia, Manuel Espitia, Jesse Espitia, sisters Beatrice Cardenas, Juana Rodriguez, his loving wife Alice Urbina Espitia, daughter Patricia Ann Rodriguez and grandson Bradley Thomas Stewart. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Rosary at 7:00 pm, on Monday, June 30th at Crespo Funeral Home, 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, TX. Funeral Mass Services will be held on Tuesday, July 1st at 10:00am at St Patrick Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran St, Houston, TX, with procession to Rosewood Cemetery, Humble TX.
