Juliette Ago Slaughter, 54 years of age, was born June 10th 1965 on a Thursday at Gagnoa Ivory Coast. Her father’s name was Celestin Goli and her mother Martine Houahonon. She was the third of eight children. As a child she loved to play games with her family and cared very much for brothers and sisters. On most afternoons, Juliette spent her time hanging out with sister Solange Diarrassouba in which she referred to as her twin sister that would stay with her until the end. As Juliette grew older, her favorite moments in life never changed and remained spending time with her family and friends. She loved to laugh, have fun, and most of all she loved to worship her lord and savior Jesus Christ. Although Juliette was well known for being a kind and loving person, another one of her special gifts was her intelligence. She graduated from primary and high school in Gagnoa and Divo, Ivory Coast. Afterwards she continued her studies at the University of Yamoussoukro and graduated with a bachelor in bilingual secretary. Juliette then decided to put her degree to use and started working as the head secretary for Ocean Energy, and was there she encountered the love of her life Journell Slaughter. Juliette and Journell loved each other and raised a beautiful family of three boys Fedarice, Christian and Mark. In 2002, Juliette made the sacrifice to leave her family behind and move to Louisiana USA with her fiancé Journell, in order to create more opportunities for her children.
She spent most of her time in St Martinville LA, raising her children before moving to Houston Texas to advance her career in the medical field. In 2015 Juliette partnered with her friend Bernice Koko to start a non-profit clinic named UHPhealth. Since then, the clinic expanded to 3 locations in Houston and helped thousands of sick patients who were in need financially regain their health. No matter where Juliette found herself in life, she always found a way to win over the heart of her friends by always caring and helping others. With her positive attitude, and willingness to give, Juliette was loved dearly in the community and made many friends all over the world. Juliette was also known for her excellent cuisine as well as her beautiful voice as a singer. Whether she would be singing gospel at church, at home or on social media, her passion and energy always had everyone dancing and singing along. During the first quarter of 2018 Juliette started having pain in her rectal area. She tried to sustain the pain hoping it would go away, but it didn’t and she ended up getting checked at the hospital. It was to everyone’s surprise when she was faced with the devastating news of being diagnose with stage 4 rectal cancer which had metastasized to her lungs. It was very shocking for her to comprehend, but she never lost faith in the lord and looked at her situation as a trial that would glorify God at the end. On august 19 2018 her loved one Journell Slaughter passed away, and again she was devastated. Regardless of all the adversity Juliette was facing, she remained positive took the responsibility mother and father for her boys. With the mentality of a fighter and by putting her entire faith in God she continued to give more love to her family and friends. No matter how much pain she was in, Juliette never showed it and always made you feel like everything was ok.
On October 15 2019, Juliette was hospitalized at Ben-Taub hospital due to extreme pain in her stomach and started having difficulty breathing. The doctors told her she had 8 days to live but she did not accept that said that only the lord knows when her time would be. She continued to praise the lord for her healing and really wanted to live to give her testimony hoping it would bring more people to the lord. A week after getting out the hospital, Juliette headed to Mexico in order to get treated with natural medicine in the hopes to return to her family and give her testimony. She stayed in for 3 weeks of treatments and was showing signs of improvements. On Sunday November 17 2019, Juliette started having difficulty breathing and was rushed to the emergency room at scripps hospital in San Diego. The following day she fell into a coma and on Friday November 22 2019 at 2PM Juliette passed away.
Those who lived with Juliette found her to be not only a friend, a sister, a mom, a daughter but most of all a servant of god. She was loyal to the lord until the very end and is with him forever now with no pain or suffering. In her family she was appreciated for being a loving, caring person who celebrated every special occasions. She always responded to others by listening first and giving sound advice. She was a woman who got everyone together and encouraged us to all get along and stay in harmony. Let’s pray for her sincerely knowing that she loved each one of us dearly, and will never forget about us in the kingdom of God. She is happy and in good hands with the with the father now, and will continue to help her family and friends from the other side.
